hi guys i am a 19 yr old student who faces lots of stress due to studies, and i have been thinning for a couple of months.. i am being diagnosed of male pattern baldness, and being prescribed with minoxidil 5%. And i am on minoxidil for around 4 mths with no real results, and i have a cousin of mine who once suffered hair loss and being diagnosed with male pattern baldness, but his parent told him that he cant suffer from male pattern baldness at such a young age, and his loss was due to stress, and sure enough he did nothing to his hair, and his hair grew back after a period of time... And i have the same pattern loss as him now,and am connfused as to whether i should carry on with minoxidil, what if i am the same case as my cousin.. Guys i am really confused..... any opinion ?

Take Propecia.

Is it advisable for me to stop minoxidil now ???

I would just take Propecia for now. This way you get to see how you react to it without the confounding effects of other chemicals, e.g. minoxidil. For most people, finasteride (Propecia) does the trick.

Maybe, maybe not. A shed's a shed -- nothing to panic about.

No one can say for certain, but using finasteride can't hurt in this regard.
