Need help with Prescription for Proscar NYC

Hi Everyone,

So this is my first time trying to get some Finasteride 5mg pills from a pharmacy. I do not have health insurance so I would have to pay for my visit to the Doctor. Anyone in the NYC area that can recommend me to one that is willing to prescribe me a 5mg prescription? Also I am a student so I don't have a lot of cash. Would be nice if someone can fill me in on the cost of the doctors visit and the price of the pills per month. Thank you all, looking forward to hearing from you guys.

p.s. Brooklyn or Manhattan will be most ideal.

why don't you ring the walk in clinic and ask them how much to see a doctor? and also you could ring any pharmacy to get the price of Propecia. cheers

Thanks for the advice Talmoode. I definitely will start searching, but I figured this was a good place to start after reading the forums. I just wanted to get a rough idea on the pricing and understand that each doctor and pharmacy is different. Also I was reading how some people on the forum was saying it's not easy to find a Doctor that will prescribe finasteride 5mg.

okay. I am in Australia and its about AU $25 - AU$30 (after rebate) to see a doctor. There is also free walk in clinics available here as well. AU $240 for 1mg Propecai (90 tablets) and AU $50 for 5mg generic Proscar (30 tablets). I've read somewhere that you can get a generic Propecia very cheap from Walmart in the US or something, for US $ 9 for 30 tablets ? By the way when I went to see my GP, I told her that I was very concerned about my hair loss and needed Propecia for that. If your doctor is reluctant, push them hard, real hard. If that doesn't work, you will have to find another one that is willing to prescribe you Propecia. cheers

Thanks Man. That actually helped me a lot. Now I just have to find the right Doctor. I was under the impression that it was $9 with insurance because that is a dirt cheap price.
