PLEASE HELP. THANK YOU!!

I am 23 and I have been taking finasteride for two weeks now, minoxidil for 3 weeks, some hair vitamins for about 2 monthsand to be honest i really do think its helping.

But today i think i got a side effect from finasteride. i never noticed if i had large nipples or whatever but i am having a pain in my left nipple that if i touch it it hurts.

Could this be gynecomastia? also is it possible that i can regrow hair with just minoxidil?

And yes i am a bit paranoid about the side effects and if there is a chance that i could regrow without finasteride i will try it.

If sensitive nipples is what you are experiencing, then it is a good trade-off. minoxidil alone will help regrow hair with varying degree.

There is a theory that finasteride. takes care of root causes by eliminating "dht-attack," and thus give a reprieve to hair follicles to keep working in healthy environment. While, minoxidil takes cares of follicle superficially by helping the follicle to struggle to stay in business... sort of giving extra hand to staggering sick follicle to stand. minoxidil. alone does not help protect follicles from "dht-damage."

Thus, the theory goes on to say that on a long-term, minoxidil is unable to save dying follicles and you would still be thinning/balding but slowly. I am unsure how much authenticity there is to such a theory.

I would simply continue finasteride. It takes weeks or months before side effects subside or perhaps not. Then you decide. Minor gyno with finasteride is possible but that is the least I would worry about.
