Need help please! 7 month propecia: WORSE!! Depression

Hi Guys! How are you? Fine hopefully.

Well let's begin, the father of my father aged 85 is a norwood 7 whereas my father aged 54 is a norwood 4-5. However no hairloss signs in my mom's family.

I'm 21 now and last year I saw some hairloss signs. I was losing a lot (around 150 hairs every day in the shower) but I also experienced some anxiety with panic attacks before that. So at the begining of october 2013 I started to use Minoxidil 5 on the temples and the crown. I was a norwood 1. I was still shedding around 150 hairs a day in the shower. Then I stopped it at the begining of december 2013 and switched to propecia the 4th of january 2014. I decided to take a shower every two days but nothing has changed, the first 3 months were awful, I was shedding about 200 hairs a day! Then at month 4, my hair has thinned incredibly and I begin to experience some itching so I decided to take nizoral twice a week.

Unfortunately till today I'm still shedding around 150 hairs in the shower, itches are lower but still here, I'm a norwood 2 and on my way to norwood 3. The crown is the same maybe a little bit more visible than before but my temples have receided litterally!!! Hair quality is bad, thin and frizzy going in all the ways... I have to precise that I haven't experienced any side effect. No pain, still masturbating and enjoying my sex life. Maybe a bit less amount of sperm.

What shall I do?? Month 7 still loosing 150 hairs in the shower. I decided to take a shower only twice a week and bought regenpure shampoo. Do I have to stick with it? Please I need your help.

What signs of hair loss did you experience? Losing 150 hairs in the shower is not really a clear cut sign of hair loss. Did you notice a receding hair line or thinning at the front?

Stop focusing on how much hair you lose in the shower. I know that I shed a lot in the shower too, always have whether I'm taking any measure or not. You're causing yourself a lot of unnecessary anxiety which could be adding to your hair loss. Please start by posting a picture of you when you were NW1 and a current picture of you so we can see what is going on. You may have something else other than male pattern baldness.

You were on minoxidil for <2 months before stopping. You won't see any positive effects in that short of a span. More than likely you would have seen shedding initially from it and then not continued on it so you didn't see the regrowth.

Now let's get to the finasteride. First thing is first, have you seen a dermatologist? Where did you get your finasteride. Propecia? Generic from some online website? Have a Prescription? I know that as soon as I pop finasteride my scalp itch immediately disappears, so maybe your finasteride is bunk? Also there are two kinds of itch, and nizoral can be good for one kind and more irritating if it's the other kind of itch.
