Does anyone have any experience with natural DHT blockers? I have come across one called HLCC Scripts Complete.

The company's web site says it has NO side effects. It says the following about how it works compared to propecia:

HLCC: Blocks androgen receptors so DHT doesn't bind to hair follicles
Propecia: Stops 5 alpha reductase from converting Testosterone to DHT

Here is a link to the site: http://www.hlcconline.com/001HLCOMP30.html

I am seriously considering this as propecia caused me to have side effects. I am struggling to find reviews though. Thoughts please?

Seems like you're trying to advertise this product.. Having only 1 post is very suspicious.

Anyway, I just looked at the product. This will do absolutely nothing for hair loss. 100% con.

Well I have been told that most of these natural DHT blockers are just overpriced "Saw Palmetto Complex" which you can get from the pharmacy. Online says that ED is still a possible side effect, but surely since it is natural you wouldn't suffer a 'post-finasterie' syndrome?

There is absolutely no evidence to suggest that Saw Palmetto does anything to help with hair loss. The only 5AR inhibitors that are proven to work are Finasteride and Dutasteride.

If you're worried about side effects have a look at RU58841 or CB-03-01. Both of these chemicals work differently to 5AR inhibitors, they bind to the Androgen Receptor thus blocking DHT from binding.

Not true.

I have the HARDEST evidence, decreased shedding while taking it.

I take a low dose of spironolactone and everytime I add saw palmetto (anywhere from 320-450mg at least once or twice a day) my shed decreases. When I stop taking it, my shed increases.

Just because it doesn't work for you doesn't mean it doesnt work for others.

And just because it works for me doesnt mean it will work for you.

But if works and helps me. And as aggressive as male pattern baldness is, I need ALLLLLL the help I can get.

What I mean by evidence is a clinical study. I dont class evidence as somebody on a forum saying they had decreased shedding while also taking a potent anti androgen like spironolactone.

I've never taken it, all I'm saying is there is no evidence

Ah..wait a minute:
A Randomized, Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled Trial to Determine the
Effectiveness of Botanically Derived Inhibitors of 5AR in the Treatment of
Androgenetic Alopecia

http://www.capilare.com/hair_loss_fda_study.pdf

The goal of this study was to test botanically derived 5AR inhibitors, specifically
the liposterolic extract of Serenoa repens (LSESr) and ß-sitosterol, in the treatment of
Androgenetic Alopecia.

I didn't read it all....so FWIW...
