My New Insurance Covers Finasteride 1mg Pills

I'd been getting month to month refills on a script from my derm, but I just recently got a new primary care Doctor and she wrote me a 90 day script (with one refill, so 6 months worth).

I just picked it up at Walmart, and I was super close to paying like, $80 for the 90 days (I'd been getting the 30 day ones for about $25), but I just got new insurance, and I decided to have them check if it was covered...about 5 min later, pharmacist chick rings me up, $29 for 90 days. These are 1mg pills too, not the whole hassle chop up pill sh*t insurances cover for enlarged prostates

If you haven't checked to see if your insurance covers finasteride, I definitely would. Just saved myself 50 bucks. I know some people site price as a reason for ordering somewhat questionable stuff from online pharmacies, so just putting it out there that price might not be an issue if you want the peace of mind that comes with getting it from a pharmacy you know is legit.

Over here genuine propecia costs $28~29 for 30 pills and generic ones i.e. Teva costs abut $20. The people which I know in real life over usually buy the propecia over the generic. Tho it's extremely rare to get a proscar prescription and impossible (or just nearly impossible) to get a dutasteride prescription here.
By the way, when my Doctor gives me a prescription, it covers propecia and a few others generic brands altogether, then I can just choose which one I want at the pharmacy. Do you have to choose between propecia and a generic prescription?

No my Doctor sends the script to the pharmacy and I go over to pic up whatever she told them. I'm sure I could ask her to give me name brand propecia if I really wanted it. I'm guessing it's a bit more expensive.

As long as it's finasteride and it's from a pharmacy I know is legit, I'm comfortable with it. Almost all the prescriptions I've gotten over the years for all kinds of meds have been generic, and they've always worked fine.

I'm too sketched out to order from these online pharmacies that are popular on here, but I get why people do it. I've been fortunate to find two local docs now who will prescribe me finasteride no problem
