My mother is an amazing woman - 55 years old, nine children, a nurse, and so much more. I am the oldest daughter and for years my mother has suffered with hair loss. She has a very thin layer of hair on the top of her head (it is a bit thicker on the side and in the back). Her scalp is completely visible. My siblings and I want to do something for our mom and we have heard about hair transplant surgery for women (where they take hair from the thicker part of the scalp in the back and move it to the areas that are very thin). She has been on Rogaine for years, but is not doing much good.

My mother doesn't like to meet new people because she is so self conscious - it is effecting her quality of like. Please let me know if you know anything about this surgery and if it is safe. Many thanks.
