My Hairloss Seems To Have Been Linked To Severe Dandruff

I started to notice that I was shedding hair after I turned 21, didn't think much of it because I still had a lot of hair and it was not very visible. Over the years it got worse and I thought shampoo made it worse.

If I swept my hand through the hair or massaged the scalp, I would see a lot of hair in the bathroom sink, the hair would fall of very easily.
So the last three years I have almost stopped using shampoo altogether since I thought this made things worse. I also stopped touching my hair due to how easily it fell off. I tried using different kinds of oil but to no avail. I've had thinning all over the scalp, the pictures only show my vertex area. The front is quite thin as well, but this is only visible when my hair is wet.

I had a haircut just two days ago and bought a shampoo containing SLS. The hairdresser recommended I wash my hair everyday, and I was tired of the oily, greasy look. I was fed up and didn't really care anymore. So I have been washing my hair everyday now for four days straight and the shedding has stopped completely.

I read everywhere that Dandruff does not cause hairloss which is why I never even bothered washing my hair everyday. Afraid it would make me lose my hair at a faster rate.

Would also like to add that when my hairdresser combed my hair big flakes came lose, I always thought the flakes was due to dry scalp. Guess I was very wrong.
Most likely the SLS in the shampoo caused all flakes, dead cells or whatever to fall off.

Edit: It didn't stop...

Nah IMO if your seeing scalp and bald spots where the hair doesnt not grow back its just male pattern baldness. Dandruff could be a byproduct of male pattern baldness since once the hair miniturizes obviously the oil gland on the hair still exists, and secretes sebum just as it did before except the hair is practically gone so you have big blobs of sebum that used to oil the hair.
If your balding and have dandruff treat them as separate issues. Treat dandruff as just that, but if your noticing bald spots its male pattern baldness. dandruff doesnt cause male pattern baldness directly from any reason we know of YET.
I had this same issue a long time, and shampoos dont fix it. I think its related to male pattern baldness
