Hi all

I wanted to write a few words describing my recent hair transplant experience. I am a male in my late 30's with severe thinning around the crown area. It's not something that bothered me too much however enough to investigate a potential solution through an FUE procedure. I am not a fan of medication hence treatment through Propecia or Minoxidil wasn't on the agenda.

Early 2017, I began to investigate hair transplant surgeons in the UK where I am based and comparing these to Europe and rest of the world. Through extensive research I shortlisted a couple of clinics and BHR Clinic in Belgium headed by Dr Basinga came out on top based on good reviews and international accolades. My first encounter with Dr Basinga was in September 2017 in London for an initial consultation. What impressed me most was that he had worked for several years as a medical Doctor and was very considerate about patient welfare. It was clear from our conversation that he was not implementing the hard sell approach but was very flexible and offering several potential options but made it very clear that I need to consider whether this is the right option for me.

I finally decided on an FUE procedure to be performed in mid December 2017 at the BHR Clinic. I was overwhelmed by the attention to detail and patient care throughout the procedure. Dr Basinga performed a large part of the procedure himself and I know reading reviews earlier in the year, patients were disappointed that their physician had been very hands off. It certainly wasn't the case here.

The whole team at BHR Clinic were fantastic, particularly the support consultant I had been engaging with throughout the year leading up to the procedure - Hilde Martens who was an absolute diamond. The aftercare service is superb. I was told that now that the procedure has been completed and accounts settled, BHR Clinic are still here to support with aftercare, questions, advice etc.

I do not write reviews often, in fact I cant remember that last one I wrote but deemed it necessary to let people know of my experience in case someone is considering a hair transplant and unsure which Physician to choose. No Doubt there are several great Hair Transplant surgeons around the world and I would certainly place Dr Basinga in the top list.

Hi Max
Procedure costs €5 for the first 1000 grafts and €3 per graft thereafter. With the post Brexit exchange rate the GBP equivalent is pretty much the same.
