Is £78 for 56 1mg tablets a good price? Im only taking 0.5 so it didn't make sense for me to buy 5mg at £5.70 although this is very cheap.

The cheapest way of getting finasteride is to use generics, for example you can get fincar at inhouse pharmacy for around £15 for 30 tablets. Quartered they'd split into 120 doses of 1.25mg.

You can get 30 finpecia (1mg ) for around £13

I've used these plenty of times and customs are fine with them, if you import goods over £18, you tend to get mullered on excise and admin costs.

It's all a question of whether or not you trust generics ( I do)
