My doctors opinion on finasteride

So I recently went to my medical physician and talked about my options as far as getting on some form of finasteride. He seemed very leary to steer me in that direction. He is a younger male and stressed the side effects of low to no ejaculation and libido and seemed to think that if you have the gene for hair loss there is not much to do for this. He did not come right out and say he wouldn't prescribe it for me but wanted to do some blood tests first. I thought these side effects only affected a very small percentage and proceeded to dissipate after the drug wears off. My question is really for those experienced with this drug and what your thoughts on the whole sexual side effects and if anyone could notice a difference at all ?

let me start by saying ive been taking prescription proscar for almost 4 months without any sides whatsoever.

the first dr i went to wouldnt prescribe me propecia due to side effects and said i should just shave my head if it gets bad.

the second dr i went to prescribed me proscar without any trouble. she simply went over the side effects, i said i was ok with them, and that was that.

Has it been working for you ?

For some, a very small minority, it seems the side effects don't go away after quitting the drug. In fact they only get worse. Note that this is a very small minority, but you should be aware of this before deciding to get on finasteride.
