My doctor is excited!

Two days ago I visited my doctor asking him for another proscar prescription. I have to say that as I visited him for the first time in August 03 he was very sceptical about my chances in fighting male pattern baldness. It was quite hard to persuade him to prescribe me finasteride.

Yeah, my situation was bad. There was sheeny scalp on my temples and crown with just few real and some vellus hair.Now after 6months on minoxidil and 4months on propecia my situation is 100times better.

Last time I visited my doctor it was in the beginning of September 03. Two days ago he did not even recognise me. As he realised who I am he was really excited commenting great improvement. He was glad to prescribe me another proscar prescription.

He also prescribed me 2% minoxidil (doctor in here can not prescribe 5% minoxidil). You do not pay the 2% one. I can use it for the above ears and back area which responds very well by me to it and spare more 5% minoxidil for temples and crown!

If the speed of the regrowing process will be as so far nex months I will be hairy punk in spring 04!!!

It always good to hear a positive story. Fact is teh proven treatments do indeed work. Congrats and i wish you plenty of continued hairgrowth.

They totally work.

I am going to be finishing up month 4 in a few days and I keep getting compliments all the time. I know some balding guys that are scared to take propecia because it effects the hormones but you can tell that they are totally thinking twice about not it taking after looking at my head and asking me a million questions about it.

So far so good, hopefully it stays this way for awhile.

As I remeber in month 3 of using minoxidil I noticed that the vellus hair grows faster and longer. But not thicker and darker. Also my healthy hair on sides and in the back started to look great and grow very fast.

In month 5 I started to hear comments on my improvement from my friends. It has been noticable since then. However I was wearing cap most of the time that times.

My contemporary situation. I have turned some vellus hair into darker and thicker ones ( I do not use expression "terminal hair" because it still has to take long way to be normal healthy hair). And this makes the cosmetic effect. Sometimes I am trying not to wear a cap.

I am still losing pretty huge amount of hair every day. I see it everywhere, on my keyboard, in the sink. When I apply minoxidil and rub it into scalp a lot of hair always goes out. It must be 30 - 40 per each application.

However I have seen that this fallen hair is much thicker, darker and longer these days than before. I hope finasteride will stop this in few months and will improve my situation more.

Except a litte more body and facial hair I have not seen any side effect from both minoxidil and finasteride yet.
