I had my haircut today. I started dutasteride on Feb 21. (3 duts in the first week). 3 per day for the next 10 days (loading dose) and one dutasteride everyday after that.
My barber told me that my hair on the sides and the back (the non-male pattern baldness) area is thick like a rug.
I really wish I had started finasteride or dutasteride while I was still a NW2 or NW3. Let us see how far I can get with the treatments now.
It is still a mystery for me. How can 3 weeks in dutasteride change the thickness and quality of the hair?
(ps., no significant change in the male pattern baldness area so far).

how old are you now? Man, you CANNOT live a life of regret. I'm 20 years old and I'm just now starting to figure that out. Who would have thought that after wasting so much time of my precious youth that I'm now starting to actually live life?

Don't spend time living in regret. You have one of the strongest hair loss regimens I've ever seen. With the addition of dutasteride, I'm sure you'll see some positive results in 3-6, maybe a bit more because you've advanced to a Norwood V, but nonetheless, I'm sure you'll get these results.

In retrospect, I wish I would have started finasteride 1 year before my hair started thinning, but it's too late now... and I don't think much about it.

I have buzzed the sides with #2. so taking pictures will not help now.

thanks for your message. I take genuine GSK dutasteride. I am 30 years old.
I plan to replace xandrox 5 and 15 with ppg free minoxidil and add folligen/tricomin more frequently.
I am not upset. I am happily married with a beautiful kid and a great job. I look better than NW5 in person as I have some hairs in the NW3 pattern in the front. Also, I was a NW6 18 months back (july 2004). I have improved to NW5. Crown is my biggest problem and looks the worst.
