Morning application of spironolactone cream?

I got my spironolactone cream recently and try to apply it at both night and in the morning, but I'm not sure how to go about it in the morning. The thing is it kinda gums up my hair a bit and it kinda looks like I used gel on my hairline (plus I'm paranoid that it smells a little and I can't notice).

Anyway, I was wondering if it's a waste to apply spironolactone cream before I take a shower in the morning. How long does it take to absorb and have its effect? Would it totally be a waste if I applied it 15 minutes, 25 minutes, before showering? What if it's a few hours before showering?

Also, since when I use product it's stuff that I rub into the scalp/root of the hair instead of the on the shaft, is it okay to do that right after applying spironolactone?

id say a couple of hours or so like minoxidil. 25 mins would definitley
be a waste. thats why i stopped it as it was so inconvenient in the morning.
