Yes

I am no expert, but from what i have read and heard, some follicles will produce only one hair and others can produce as much as four. So, yes, this is normal.

hmmmm... that s very sarcastic. some some folicles are not able to produce one f*****g hair, and others can produce many....... if all my folicles were like that.. i was not in here...f***!

re:

Yeah, it is a very cruel trick being played on all of us...don't know of if anyone has ever heard of the comic Jim Gaffigan but one of his routines mentions how he is going bald and he says that he is convinced it is just God's way of saying " Now let's try and see him get laid". Used to be funny before i started losing hair. Now I can't even enjoy Seinfeld without looking at George's head and wanting to cry.

Good Luck to all

so

does that mean a typical non-balding man will have approx 100,000 hair strands on average, but less than 100,000 hair follicles ???

I've noticed the same thing, not only on my head, but also on my arms and legs.

Besides the fact that follicles are placed as groups on one's scalp( known as follicular units),sometimes the new shaft starts to grow before the telogen one is ejected. That could partially explain it.
