Should I visit HairClub and or Bosely for a free diagnosis or will they just lie to me in hopes I buy something?

I would visit a regular dermatologist but everytime I've been to one for anything they usually tell me some none sense and I want someone experienced in hair loss...I really have no idea how to find someone qualified to diagnose properly hence the hairclub/bosely idea.

Thoughts/Advice?

Bosley has a really bad reputation.

Not sure what hair club is but more than likely if you hang around here a bit you'll learn more than any of these places can tell you.

Hey,

I'm young and dealing with hairloss, too. It's a b**ch. However, a hair transplant at our age could really exacerbate our problem, not help it. I know it's tempting when you pull out a dozen hairs everytime you run your fingers through it to want to do something, and want to do something as soon as possible. Going bald is a difficult thing to swallow when its onset is so fast. hair transplant is not a cure for hairloss though and is an option that, in my opinion, should only be excercised when hairloss has stabalized. If you get some thinning gaps filled in your hairloss is only going to continue and most likely within a few years it will become blatantly obvious you got a hair transplant.

Most of us await "cures" like "hair cloning" but until that arives (if that arives) people as young as us don't have many alternatives aside from propecia, minoxidil, nizoral, ect.

It's a hard thing to deal with, but your not helping yourself by rushing into things out of frustration.

If you do go the hair transplant route, f*** bosley. They're the saudimists of the hair transplant World. Do your research.

I'm not looking into getting an hair transplant now. I just want a qualified specialist to tell me "yeah you got male pattern baldness" and not something else more or less serious.

How do I find the right doctor?

Well I couldnt tell you how to find a good one. The dermotologist I went in saw was an absolute moron, and not just with regards to hairloss.

What is the nature of your hairloss? Is it diffusing all over your scalp or just the part affected by male pattern baldness? is there any sort of pattern to it? chances are if you are sure you're losing your hair it is male pattern baldness, unless you are losing it in an abnormal manner or from regions that are "immune" to male pattern baldness.

It looks male pattern baldness...it started with my temples and is going into the back as well as towards the temples (across) but I also think I'm noticing some hair thinning above the sideburn on the side. That isn't supposed to be pattern, right?

I just want a "verdict" from a professional so I can narrow down exactly to what it is I'm facing. It's probably male pattern baldness, but I jus want to "make sure", you know? And I want to avoid wasting my time by going to some moron.

sideburn thinning is common. look at a lot of bald guys, their sideburn hair probably used to go more out on their forehead. a lot of guys with male pattern baldness their sideburns seem to shoot back more toward their recession. at least thats what i noticed.

anyways, good luck finding a good derm. they're out there, i just don't know where to look.
