Mixing Minoxidil 5% With Rubbing Alcohol

I get so much flaking and buildup from my minoxidil liquid that I want to mix it with something to thin it out a little. I was going to start using fresh dark coffee because I read on the internet where it is suppose to promote hair growth but then I also said it works the opposite of minoxidil and would counter any benefits. The only thing I can think of would be mixing rubbing alcohol 70% with my minoxidil to prevent all the buildup on scalp. Any other ideas what would be a good mixture with minoxidil? I use the Equate brand from Walmart.
