Minoxidil

Hi Guys,

I am new to the forums and looking for some advice, I have noticed my hair receeding over the last couple of years and it was fairly thin to start. But then 2 months ago I started noticing a bald patch appearing right in the centre of my centre partin. So I changed my hairstyle to cover it and bought some Regaine at first, then half way thru the first month ordered some Min from the states as it is much cheaper! I think people relate to him as Dr. Lee(Minoxidil.com), I bought the 5% Min solution day and night version and a small bottle of Xandrox 12.5% lotion to top up. Now I had great results as the bald patch has all but gone despite a bit of itching and some dandruff and some red ears due to too much(3 apps a day) of min. So I dropped down to 2 apps of 5% min and put 12.5% on twice a week as a 3rd app. Now my question is I have heard you can get better results using generic min, so is Dr. Lee's min the generic type? Also what can I do about the temple recesion, as I don't think min can help me there! Is it a tranplant only area?

the first minoxidil to be sold was rogaine so all the other brands are often call generick

as for minoxidil helping on the hairline, my little brother has been use it with great suscuss his hair has thicked and his temples have filled in a bit and thats in only 4 months
but i have been using minoxidil and finasteride now gfor about a year and the best i can say is maybe the loss has stoped
so you could get lucky

As far as I know, this is BS because minoxidil's effectiveness is more or less directly proportional to its dosage. So I mean, if Rogaine's got 5% minoxidil in it, and you're applying it properly, then Generic 5% minoxidil isn't gonna do much better. This is just from what I've read however.

generic minoxidil should have the exact same effectiveness as as minoxidil, not more, not less. Its like purchasing generic IB profin or advil from the drug store, same thing.
