Minoxidil Without finasteride?

I'm an absolute newbie so apologies if I make numerous newb' mistakes.

Basically, I'm currently using the hairmax laser comb + Advecia tablets to combat my frontal receding hairline and was wondering if it would help to take Minoxidil as well?

I really don't like the look of the side effects that Finasteride gives (Although a brief look at the side effects of Minoxidil don't look amazingly better but at least there's no sexual side effects), so I was curious if maybe some Minoxidil pills would help?

I'm 23, I can still hide my recediing hair line, so i'm catching it relatively early, but time is of the essence.

Thanks

He!

Let's get this straight for u!
-Finasteride doesn't grow back your hairline, that's what the most users has noticed. Stabilization it is.
-Minoxidil can be used for your hairline, but has not significant effect of regrowing on the hairline. Stabilization & maybe little regrowth it is.
-Don't take minoxidil pills, it WILL give you libido side effects. The topical version don't. Topical minoxidil it is.

I've noticed side-effects from nanoxidil (upgrade of minoxidil); Swollen eyes, dark circles round the eyes, puffy face, headachge. Maybe i'm just allergic to it :(!

Not everybody is as lucky as you do and find only stabilization or little regrowth. You're the first person that i've heard saying: "Minoxidil totally restored my hairline".
There are not many people that can say that. Question.. how are the eyes?

How can't it stop the loss, when it regrows hair?! If it regrows lost hair, it is a matter of common sense that it must preserve existing hair!

My God! What a load of bullsh*t! Why do you post on a hairloss forum, when you know nothing about the potential of anti-hairloss treatments?! The effect is very individual and you can't determine any limits of regrowth, because the results can be almost incredible in some cases. The combination of minoxidil with finasteride is especially very effective. I'm just experiencing it on my own, and the restoration of my Norwood1 hairline (after 16 years!) doesn't seem utopian anymore.

Dude.. watch your tone, don't be such a d***. he say's minoxidil without finasteride. Read before you act bro. And don't spill b*ll**** yourself here with NW1 story's of minoxidil, finasteride has a big part for your hairline as well. The combination
does the effect, yes probably. Done discussing with you.

"Basically the study showed that 1 to 1.5 men out of 5 found very mild to moderate growth in the hairline area. This hairline “area” includes the frontal area of the scalp, not the temporal area.

It is difficult to watch my tone, when I visit a hairloss forum full of whining guys saying that "minoxidil will give you 2-3 years" and "finasteride will give you 5-6 years". These people extrapolate their bad experience and spread false information that discourages other people from the use of effective treatments. And it is really grotesque that side effects that are statistically present in 1% people are presented almost as a norm.

By the way, you apparently like cherrypicking data that fit your theories?

"...in 2003 a small study published in the Dermatology Times found some promotising results. What the study concluded was that after almost a year of use (48 weeks exactly) that over half of the men who were using a 5% minoxidil treatment and over 40% of men who were using a 2% minoxidil treament saw visible results in the frontal areas of their scalps. The study stated that among the men who were participating they saw moderate to great increases in hair growth in the frontal areas of the scalp (19% saw these results who were using 5% minoxidil, 10% saw these results using 2% minoxidil, and 3% saw these results using a placebo)."
