Minoxidil With Longer Hair And Diffuse Thinning

I notice that when I let my hair grow out a bit longer (so that I can cover most of my hair loss) it also loses some of its thickness, because of lessened Minoxidil absorption I assume.

When I had my hair really short 3-6 mm, applying minoxidil was a breeze and the majority of it ended up in the scalp.

Now that my hair is longer (~2 cm) I feel like more is getting wasted in the hair. (I massage it into the scalp with my fingers). If I just apply it between the hair with the dropper then it all tends to run down the sides of my head, so I have to rub it in.

Should I use more Minoxidil (because I have to cover my whole top of the head) now that my hair is longer? I normally use the recommended 1 mL twice daily.

I understand what you are saying.
I have had the same questions for a while.
Longer hair (as baldness consents) means you need a bit more minoxidil for it to go in the scalp rather than on the stem of the hair.
This is also why I prefer liquid to foam: liquid is cheaper (especially if generic at the chemist's) so it is not a big deal to use, say, 1.5 ml per application rather than 1 ml. Or even 2 ml if your hair is very long and min does not reach the scalp...
The problem with this approach is that the more min you use, the dirtiest the hair.:.

Is Glycerin a good absorbent of minoxidil?

I had exact same issue as u and when i used liquid i used about 2ml each application and i think that unless u use some "enhanced" expensive minoxidil then go a head and use as much as u need bcuz its dirt cheap.
The problem for me was that liquid minoxidil killed my scalp, unbearable itching that made me lose more hair than i could ever regrow.
I now switched to the foam version and im much happier, and for some reason i can cover a lot with the 1ml foam (half a cap) that i rarely use more than 1ml.
Nowadays i use half a cap twice a day for hair and half a cap once a day for entire beard including sideburns.
I also have 5mg and 10mg loniten (oral minoxidil) on the way , i plan to start with 1.25mg a day and build up to 5mg, not sure if i will go higher than that for now.
