Hi guys,

I know that much has been said and written about Minoxidil at this point, but perhaps my case has not been discussed yet.

Basically I had started to use Minoxidil in october 2012, and after a depressing month of hairs shedding, I had a very positive outcome!
Since I live in Italy and I have a US friend sending me Kirkland Minoxidil, for customs problems I was not able to have Minoxidil all of january and most of february. When I finally got the package at the end of february, I started to use it again. Even though I had stopped to use it for 2 months, at this point my hairs were restored and
were at their peak. About 10 days after I re-started to use Minoxidil, the hairs have started to shed more fiercely than ever again!
Basically I am losing all the hairs I got back!!

Now, my question is: since my hairs were all re-grown and I had no sign of loss whatsoever, was it better if I had not re-started to use it at all?
Will my hairs grow back like they did before, even after stopping and re-starting treatement again?

I am looking forward to your replies!

I think that you are losing your minoxidil-dependent hair. Remember that it takes about 2 months, until the affected hair falls out. And this can last for several weeks. So be prepared for it. Nobody can predict, what will happen in the following weeks. Your only possibility is to continue in the treatment. And if something like this should happen in the future, then you should seriously consider the addition of 5-AR blockers (finasteride, dutasteride). They should at least keep your lost hair "alive", capable of rejuvenation after every loss.

By the way, I wonder that you can't get Kirkland minoxidil in Italy. I am from Czech republic and I have been ordering it regularly from USA for nearly 5 years.

..or if this should happen again next time, go and buy rogaine from pharmacy/chemist while you wait for your minoxidil to arrive!!
