hi guys, i have been using 5% minoxidil & finasteride for 11 months (once a day), & 8 months, respectively. I am 23, & have reaped great rewards from applying minoxidil onto the temples. So much so that when applying the minoxidil, i have great difficulty knowing where to apply the solution, as my hair has gained so much in thickness. I am thinking of STOPPING the use of the minoxidil, in 6-12 months & just using the DHT inhibiting finasteride. Why?? - because I am a lazy person - who does not want to (if he can help it), have to remember to, & apply 5% minoxidil for the rest of my life (i am A.D.D lol). Though, I don't want to end up like my loving father, who is completely bald. So what do you guys think -will the DNT inhibiting properties of finasteride prevent any loss in the 'gains' of hair, after i stop the minoxidil? I understand you guys are not clairvoyants - just wondered what your thoughts were. Thanks in advance friends.

Chances are you will lose a lot of what you have gained.

Read this and decide for yourself.
(The obvious answer is, don't get off of minoxidil because you'll certainly lose a lot hair, propecia or no propecia.)

I would definitely NOT stop the Minoxidil. But, you might be able to reduce the application amount, or even cut down to one application a day and still maintain your regrowth. If you see if this will work for you, make the change gradually.
