minoxidil effects healthy hair?

Is it true that if you stop taking minoxidil, you'll lose hair that you wouldn't have lost otherwise? Sorry to be so vague - I can't remember where I saw this, but I was curious if anyone on here has lost a lot more hair than would be expected following a quitting of minoxidil.

If you start a successful treatment with maintaining and/or regrowth of hair, you will most probably be in a worse state than by baseline when quitting, but you would have been there by then anyway without treatment.

The only thing that could cause you to (permanently) lose _more_ hair on a treatment is allergic reactions.
