Minoxidil Cycling?

So I'm just now starting Minoxidil, but I read that if you keep using it for a long period of time your hair becomes dependent on it, and if you ever stop using it your hair loss will accelerate beyond the point it was at prior to treatment. So to me it sounds like Minoxidil ends up replacing a hair maintenance function that your body would normally handle (kind of like a steroid), and if that's the case the obvious solution is cycling between periods of taking minoxidil and rest, (assuming you're on Finasteride indefinitely).

So the reason I'm posting here is because I'm wondering if anyone knows how many days I can safely use Minoxidil for before I risk permanent damage to bodily functions, and how many days I have to be off Minoxidil before my body would be fully readjusted/repaired to the point it was prior to using it for that period of time?

EDIT: Oh yeah, and I should clarify that the reason you become dependent on Minoxidil has something to do with it decreasing prostaglandin es-1.

Nobody knows? I don't want to weaken my bodies ability to maintain my hair, and needlessly waste my money by using Minoxidil everyday for the rest of my life, so if I have to go somewhere else for answers I will.
