I went to the derm today and he told me to begin with a 6 month trial of minoxidil to see if it regrow my crown.
He hasn't heard of RU58841 but he did some research and said he understands how it can help. So I'm thinking of supplementing RU58841 until it doesn't work, then I'll begin my finasteride treatment.
He has given me a year's supply of finasteride in case I need it.
I have 3 following questions:
1. I'm thinking of applying minoxidil on my crown and temples morning and right before bed. Then I'll use RU58841 in the afternoon after I come home from work.
I'll also probably find a way to throw in a mixture of essential oils and carrier oils in there.
2. What do you guys think of using minoxidil and RU58841 until it's not enough and then jump on finasteride?
3. Are there any disadvantages to delaying finasteride while trying to use minoxidil and RU58841 as a substitute?
My goal is to avoid finasteride as long as possible since once I'm on it, it'll probably be for long term.
