minoxidil 10 instead of 5

So far I've had just good results with minoxidil 5% but I am thinking of trying minoxidil 10. I'm thinking I should buy it too and apply at night with minoxidil 5% during the day.

Is this a good idea?

The thing is I went to a derm yesterday and he told me to get on minoxidil 10 to see better results.

My patch on the crown in recovering by filling in from the edges rather than regrowth in the patch itself. The patch is atmost 3 year old as my thinning started at 15 or 16.

The spiral formation on my crowing is filling up from the edges rather than completely. It's as if the bald patch is reversing but looking at many success stories I feel that's now how it's supposed to work.

Here is the pic

I've been on minoxidil 10 for about 6 months now. I've noticed a slight improvement, nothing drastic, but I did grow a little more hair than I had on 5%. Nothing to lose in trying. If you don't notice any major difference you can always go back to 5% minoxidil.

Since you've been getting good results from 5% Minoxidil, there should be no need to use a 10% solution. If you'll like to upgrade, then go ahead, though I don't think it's necessary.

Agustin..I have used Mintop 10 percent(dr reddy's) for more than year but it is so harsh, thic',and smelly,i even used foam 10 %

But today only i use 5% and its so thin and good, easy to apply twice if u need at several sites that may not be possible in a single step.
I donot know how it will affect me but still 10 % is not like 5% appearance and thickness.

I suspected that a higher concentration of Minoxidil would be thicker. I'm glad that the 5% Minoxidil has been good and easy to apply for treating your male pattern baldness.

I've been using it for what? 3-4 months. I think I'm gonna continue longer for atleast 9-10 months then slowly switch to avoid shed. I'm using generic Cipla brand which also has 10%.

Tiny hair on hairline getting bigger but very slowly. Those close to my current hairline are growing faster than those away from it. I also have more receding on my left side and more loss where I used to part my hair.
