Hey quick question, I was on methotrexate for about 6 months in 2010, and lost a lot of hair. Also my hair receded quick a lot in a short space of time. Does anyone know if Methotrexate can speed up MBP or just destroy hair follicles?

I think the hair that was lost on my hairline is starting to grow back now after using propecia and Rogaine...I think and hope anyway :D I had little hairs sprout very quick after using propecia and rogaine for the first time in 2013, could it have been possible that the methotrexate was responsible for them not growing for the past 3 years or is it just an effect of current drugs?

Well methotrexate does cause hairloss, its a chemo drug. I have crohn's and I talk to a lot of people who also have crohns, and some do go on methotrexate. All of them lost about 50% of their hair.

I'm not sure if it can trigger male pattern baldness, maybe the reason you were on methotrexate is the reason? Also you should regrow the hair you lost from the drug within 6-8 months. I doubt you will regrow anything male pattern baldness related without rogaine or propecia.
