Hey Guys(and Gals),
I'm a newbie aroung here and I'm hoping if somebody could tell me their opinion on Maxogain(5% Minoxidil,Thymuskin...supposed DHT topical inhibitor and NTRFA...supposedly good for scalp health).
Anyways I can't go the Finesteride route so I was looking for a way to upgrade my regimen and ordered this stuff recently.
I was on Nizoral shampoo daily along with Minoxidil 5% for the past 6 years.Recently underwent first hair transplant.
Thanx for any help.

Well I doubt it's fake. I'm sure the minoxidil is in there as stated. It's just that whenever you get a combo topical with a bunch of other additives it's debatable if they are effective.

Thanx Cassin.Do you think going back to plain minoxidil and using spironolactone topical might be more effective?Or should I just stick with this product for the next six months and see how it goes?

The Maxogain I got before had a strong smelling of alcohol, and it was manufactured by a company in HK. I stopped ordering it when the 12 bottles were finished, because I did not see any result of using it.

Honestly I'm not sure. These combo compounds are such a question mark. If you don't feel comfortable just move on now and sell it on eBay.

Yup,still smells of strong alcohol...not sure if thats a good thing. The reason I'm giving this a try is because the 5% Minoxidil from Kirkland is just too greasy due to the propylene glycol within. Also the idea of reducing DHT is becoming more urgent as time goes on.
Well so far it's been a week and the only thing I can say is that my scalp itch has gone away......I guess time will tell.

This is a scam.

Those extra ingredients don't do anything.

You're better off with regular 5% minoxidil from a trusted brand.

The product says "see growth in 60 days or your money back, no questions asked." If it was a scam I seriously doubt that guarantee would be offered. I talked to someone that had return it, and they even paid for the return postage.

Sure you did Mr First-post.

Loads of scam products offer money back guarantees, they just make it really hard for you to get your money back.

Hoper you forgot to add your sales pitch to buy UK Rogaine and Kirkland.

So you come here everyday 588 posts repeating the same thing over and over; "use Rogaine or Kirkland and propecia", and hacking anything else as a scam, new posters are scams, everyone is a scam. What or why would anyone spend so much time repeating the same thing over and over.....seems pointless, unless of course you have an alterior motive? amazing.

Hoper says use Minoxidil
"Use normal 5% (Rogaine or Kirkland)" = use Rogaine or Kirkland
"Propecia is working. Use minoxidil "= use Propecia Rogaine & Kirkland
"You should try the minoxidil, " = use Rogaine or Kirkland
"Kirkland and Rogaine liquid = same thing."= use Rogaine or Kirkland
"Order from amazon.co.uk"= use Rogaine or Kirkland and order from amazon.uk
"I'm in England and get my Rogaine Foam from biovea.net "= use Rogaine or Kirkland and order from biovea.net

Hoper says dont use anything else
"f*ck off DS Labs, " = DS labs is scam
"Mesotherapy is a scam akin to homeopathy." = Mesotherapy is scam
"lasers are a complete scam" = all lasers are a scam
"Wake up. They're all scam artists." = everyone is a scam
"Tricomin is a waste of money."= Tricomin is a scam
"Nanominox: Don't know why anyone would buy this sh*t anyway."= Nanominox is a scam
"Revivogen and Nizoral are not going to do anything" = Revivogen and Nizoral are scams
"Anyone with a brain in their head. It's hardly rocket-science."
"he's not good at handling being outwitted."

Draw your own conclusions

So who am I shilling for? Amazon? Biovea? Kirkland? Re/rogaine? You've mentioned Propecia even though I would never advocate anyone buy Propecia and have written several posts and even started a thread on getting generic Finasteride from your GP.

Maxogain is bullshit, that much is clear to most of us regs, they just can't be arsed to say it like I can.

Most of us that have been around a while realise that any product that is just "minoxidil plus a bunch of other unproven ingredients" with a huge markup on price over run-of-the-mill minoxidil is just praying on the naive to think they are getting something for the extra money. That is a scam in my book. People would be far better off buying regular minoxidil.

I believe in using trustworthy products, sorry if that offends you.

Now the fact that you went to such lengths to try and undermine my character only goes further to prove you're a shill for that shitty product.

Let me clarify my stance on hairloss treatments at this point.

I recommend that if you have hairloss you go out and buy the cheapest finasteride and the cheapest 5% minoxidil you can get your hands on that you still trust. If I lived in the States I would advocate buying Costco minoxidil and getting generic Finasteride from Wallmart.

Sorry. :)

Btw, not suprising that a shill would jump in to defend this product, since if you google 'Maxogain' this thread comes up under the 3rd result.

Damn I really love the internet.

I’ve been using Minoxidil for 20 yrs, no new hair, and hair loss continues. Minoxidil used to be a prescription drug 20 yrs ago, my pharmacist simply mixed 2% generic Minoxidil with 98% alcohol, distilled water. Propecia is still a prescription drug today; if you’ passed middle age you can’t take it often because it suppress male hormone production. Minoxidil,Thymuskin, alcohol or distilled water are generic, easily produced chemicals; who cares they are produced in Hong Kong, China or in your home lab. Maxogain is as cheap as Kirkland 5% Minoxidil because it is produced in China; you are NOT paying more for other 2 contents. DHT inhibitor alone is not cheap. and so what do you complain about? Refund your Rogain, Propecia and DHT inhibitor as well? If you look around there is no cure for hair loss; I don’t think those richest folks on earth (Prince Edward, Elton John, etc.) want to become bald. For most people who can’t afford much like me, Maxogain is a better choice for Kirkland’s Minoxidil. Or you stick with the cheapest Minoxidil at CostCo and Propecia at Walmart Pharmacy, like what I did ineffectively for the past 2 decades. BTW I also used Raymax 19 LED Laser comb for 2 years, no improvement at all.Other mult-vitamins I’m taking are Biotin, Silica, Ginsang, Ho-su-wu, B6, Hair Force, Men 50+. etc.
