I really need to get on duasteride to get some recently lost hair back would the doctor write me a prescription considering i am only 18? Sometimes doctors refuse to give prescriptions if they feel that the drug is bad for you (its not like they really care) so what should I do? I really need some advice.

Dude. You definately should not go on Dutasteride, especially at 18. Do finasteride and Nizoral. Duasteride has neurological side effects you don't want to get involved with.

I'd save dutasteride as a last resort, given that the long term effects of blocking both types of 5-ar are not really known.

Have you tried propecia, minoxidil, etc? If they don't work, then it might be time to try dutasteride. Otherwise, I'd stick to the safer, less extreme treatments in the beginning. I doubt if most doctors will prescribe dutasteride off-label for hairloss anyway.

Stay on finasteride for at least a year before you consider dutasteride my friend.

Being only 18 you are only just old enough to take finasteride safely so give that a whirl.

No doctor will prescribe dutasteride for male pattern baldness. I actually would be very worried if Docs started prescribing dutasteride to people regularly. It's long term effects have not really been studied yet.

finasteride, Minoxdil, Nizoral shampoo and Copper peptides are all options.

Search the forum and ye shall find a wealth of information from personal experiences so you can make an educated decision on what regimens you need to get your hair back.

Read some of the success stories - Look at Cassin, Axon, Bad hair Decade, Socks' Stories - all have had good success with different regimens. But you will find one common thing in all their successes...........Finasteride(Propecia or Proscar)

thanks guys i really appreciate the replies. I really do. I just am kinda freakin out I dont know what to do. I am so stupid my hair was doing so great and for some reason i stopped taking spironolactone and my hair got worse. Its amazing 3 weeks ago my hair looked pretty good i had a buzz and I would say i was a nw1 and all of a sudden within 3 weeks i went from a nw1 to a nw2. I believe i can still get the recently lost hair back if i act fast. Man I am regreting my past because 6 months ago my hair looked great, it was so thick and healthy looking. I was about a Norwood .5-1 and I would get complements on my hair from people. Then i said to myself its ridiculous rubbing spironolactone and minoxidil on my head twice a day so I stopped with the spironolactone and only did minoxidil one a day applications. Now my hair does not look very good especially for being 18.

So anyways I already decided to take duasteride. I believe I just have raging hormones right now. I have been on propecia for a year and a half and it hasnt done a thing. Nothing. I would like to fight for the recently lost hair and only take duasteride for 6 months maybe and then maintain with spironolactone.

I was having the same feeling that doctors wouldnt prescibe the duasteride to me considering im only 18 almost 19. We all know how they do that. Is there anyway I can get duasteride without a prescription or dr.s approval? I will try inhousepharmacy.com but any other places that I should try? Any advice or suggestions will be greatly appreciated I really do appreciate any type of help. Thanks guys

i got it from uitedpharmacies. usually arrives in 10 days.

to be totally honest, i really dont know if its fake, i recently stopped proscar a week ago (i was taking them simultaneously before). and my erections are still soft and the itching in my scalp hasnt got any worse, so i think it still might be the real deal. there is certainly nothing on the packaging which suggests it maybe fake, so im sticking it with it.

so spironolactone worked reall well for you, yeah?

can you tell me what brand you used and where you got it from?

yea spironolactone i think was the only thing that worked for me along with hair vitamins and a good shampoo and conditioner. However my hair started to look really really good and i got cocky and i stopped. I remember when my hair was llooking great thinking to myself "its ridiculous rubbing sh*t on my head twice a day im gunna stop for a while and see what happens" well, it turns out im in trouble after a year. The hair i recently lost was long and thicker when i was taking spironolactone, now this little patch of hair is nowhere to be seen. I really dont think minoxdil is very effective. I think the best hairloss drug is spironolactone 5% cream without a doubt. Propecia if your one of the lucky guys that respond to it.

I got it from dr lees sight http://www.regrowth.inc i believe. Type Regrowth inc in your yahoo search engine and u will find him. You have to wait 2 weeks and send him some answers to questions from his website before he sells stuff to you. (I know it sucks but its worth it )
