Ive always found genetics very interesting, and its my belief that male pattern baldness has some benefits in evolutionary terms. Vitamin D is one of the single most important things to human health, Every cell in your body functions off vitamin d and especially your immune system. Theres a good reason why no dark skinned people survived up north, because of the lack of vitamin d. Its essential to be healthy. It was probably a benefit to expose new skin to UV rays in order to produce a higher amount of vitamin d.

On the flip side, hair protects your skin from radiation. There is no evolutionary benefit from losing it other than saving money on styling products.
