Hello, i'm a young 22 year old male man, and i'm balding.
I don't have much recession, my hair is just thinning A LOT.

First it started thinning on top. Then it suddendly stopped.
I thought "Well, my father was a NW2 for most of his life, maybe i'll follow the same fate"

Except now it restarted, and now i'm thinning on the sides too.
So yeah, i won't do anything about it.

I don't want to be a slave to pills, besides, i already have a girlfriend, and i'd rather sport a bald head than have a nonfunctioning dick.
Thankfully, i already tried shaving my head, and i have got a perfect headshape and don't look half bad bald. I may even look better/more badass with a good beard.

So i have already accepted my fate.
But what i want to talk about, is how f*****g weird this sh*t is!

We are three men in our household.
Me, my brother and my father.

My father is 50, and was a NW2 until now. I always thought his hair looked great, he just trimmed the sides
and he looked AWESOME.
I'm 22, and had amazing hair. It was thick and long, and everybody loved.
My brother is 17 and still is a NW1, but i can see the first signs of thinning/recessions on his head.

Okay, are you following me yet?

Everybody always says that male pattern baldness is genetic.
Okay.
Then how in the f***, can three people with very different ages, start balding at the same exact time!

Like, my father had good NW2 hair until his 50, now it started advancing, he will soon be a NW3-NW4.
Then it started advancing for me, and now i'm a NW2.
And then it started advancing for my brother too. I know this, because he was unable to grow a beard, but now his hairline shrunk a bit and he has a buttload of beard!

Why have we started advancing our Norwoods all EXACTLY at the same time, EVEN IF WE HAVE VERY DIFFERENT AGES.
It baffles me even more in the case of my brother, since i didn't start seriously thinning until 22.

Honestly, when people say it's GENETIC, i say "BULLSHIT!"
There's clearly something in the enviroment that causes this. I wonder if science will ever figure this sh*t out, i find it laughable that we can study DNA and clone cows, and still can't figure out how a f*****g patch of hair grows.

Anyone else had something weird happen to them? Honestly, at this point, i don't even care about my f*****g hair anymore.
I just want to understand what causes this.

TL;DR: Some weird sh*t happened and i think male pattern baldness may be ENVIROMENTAL, NOT GENETIC.

Definitely genetic. Just purely by chance. Are you sure your brother is even balding? Beard growth isn't correlated with hair loss. And I highly doubt your dad's hair loss would advance from a NW2 to a NW4 that fast at his age. You probably just started noticing hair loss/thinning on others because you are now losing your hair and never noticed it before. I literally never payed any attention to people balding until I started losing my hair. Balding doesn't even run in my immediate family but somehow I was lucky enough for it to hit at 20. I also had crazy great long hair, and all of a sudden it hit strong and fast. It's definitely in the genes, just unlucky if you inherit the balding gene.

Lastly I would check with a dermatologist just in case regarding your hair loss because hair loss on the sides isn't common for male pattern baldness

It's pretty much male pattern baldness, i can recognize the pattern. It's thinning on the upper sides in the typical NW6 pattern.
We'll see what lies in the future. I guess i'm lucky since there's a chance male pattern baldness will slow down and i'll make it to 50 years old with NW2 thin hair like my father.

Not that it matters much, since i look good bald and have epic beard genes.

It's genetic 99% of cases but just looking at your father won't give you a window into your future. My Dad had a great head of hair until about 45 where he started thinning and now he's really thin on the top but only the top. Not the sides or back.

I'm 22, had rapid hairline recession to Norwood 2 (always had a high hairline aswell which hasn't helped) and am now experiencing diffuse thinning along with the first sign of a very tiny bald patch emerging on my crown.

I mean yeah Dads are possibly the closest thing you can guess by but I'm pretty sure you could inherit a gene from a relative 5 generations ago that has moved down through your family and only then exhibits itself when it gets to you.

At least you look good bald and can grow a beard. :) If we all on here could I imagine this forum would be a lot more dead haha.
