I've posted previously about my situation, I got some advice but not much... I'm not sure if I posted it correctly or whatever as I'm not much good with computers?? Basically, just as the title suggests really... I'm 28, had long hair all my life, been losing it for the past 4 years and it's ruining my life! I've tried hair laser therapy for a year... Crap and a waste of money. I've been using minoxidil for over a year... Maybe helped save some hair but it's hard to tell. I've tried Propecia for four days before getting the fear from all these horror stories plastered around the internet! I've still got the full packet and if I can't find another alternative I may have to risk it and give them a good go. But please, if anyone can offer me and other ideas I would really appreciate it. I could try and post some pictures if that would help and I can figure out how to do it? But as I say, I would really appreciate a y advice. I'm in the UK and it's like doctors etc (all the people you would think to turn to) know f*** all about male pattern baldness! My GP didn't even know what Propecia was! Joke!

The good news is that the crown is the easiest place to regrow hair with current treatments.

Lasers are held in low esteem around hair. They're selling $50 products for $500 and preying on the insecurities of bald men.

You can try taking low dose propecia by dissolving it in alcohol. You might also try RU 58851 from the black market which has reduced side effects based on testimonials.

How much money are you willing to spend fighting hair loss? $50/month? $200/month?

post some pics.

everyone who's been through all this will tell you the same thing -

1) finasteride and minoxidil are the only things that work.

2) don't be afraid of finasteride. horror stories are very, very few. start off with a low dose, like .5mg eod and monitor your sides. it will be o.k.

3) don't waste money on crap. seems like you already know this. there is nothing else right now besides finasteride and minoxidil. nothing. unless you want to try the back alley approach and se experimentals like RU.

Thank you both for your responses. Firstly, the crown is the easiest place to regrow hair?! Really?! That is good news! Thanks! And I'm not exactly flush with cash or anything, but it's bothering me that much that I guess if it's gonna work, I'll have to pay it. Do you get a lot of guys on here who suffer this badly mentally for hair loss? It seems kind of silly, but it's killing me. The propecia that I have is 1mg, can you get any smaller than that? And I will try and work out how to post some pictures and put some up soon. Thanks again.

Well, minoxidil and finasteride are both cheap, you can fit them in for ~$30/month total, approximately.
RU 58851 would cost another $30/month, but you can reduce the dose and make it last longer.

For the propecia, buy a pill cutter, maybe reduce the 1mg to 0.25 mg/day. It will work maybe 90%-95% as well which is good enough, and has a good shot at reducing side effects. It will also save money.

A lot of guys on here suffer from hair loss mentally. We get the full spectrum of people from those mildly concerned to those who are suicidal.

This whole forum is based on people suffering from hair loss mentally I guess. Nobody likes it, but some guys don't care that much about their hair though, but we do. We are willing to put up a fight against male pattern baldness. And so should you. There is still hope for you, it could have been worse, but that's not something you wanna hear. Get on finasteride, I would suggest 0.5mg/day, I personally take 1.25mg/day and 0 side effects. Don't read horror stories online and try to be positive about it. Even though that's the hardest part.

Thanks again. I'll really have to think about it... I don't wanna mind f*** myself into side effects, which is probably the kind of thing I'd do. If you don't mind being honest, how bad do you think mine is? I have pulled it all around so you can see the really bad bits, I suppose I can hide it a bit better when I want to, though it always pisses me off! Do you think a hair transplant would be worth looking into?
