Made Lifestyle Changes And Lost My Hair. Need Help!

Hello everyone!

I'm so glad I found this forum. I am 27 years old with no family history of hair loss. My father is almost 70, with not even a hint of thinning or receeding hairline, not even at the temples. Same for all my brothers and uncles on both sides of the family. I've had long hair from age 18-26, keeping it tight in a ponytail. I noticed my temples receeded a little at some point, but not much, and it didnt get any worse at all. I just assumed it was because of the ponytail. The rest of my hair has been great and I have never worried about losing it.

6 months ago I got some lab tests back with a little low testosterone levels, so I decided to make some lifestyle changes to try to become healthier. Since then my hair has thinned considerably on the front/top. I can see straight into my scalp now, and this worries me a lot. I will write down the changes I have made, along with some thoughts I have, and hopefully some of you guys in here will have the time and kindness to help me.

From early this spring I started spending more time in the sun, trying to increase my slightly low vitamin D levels (28). No sunburn, but I finally got a little tan.

Increased my calories after years of hard weightlifting and dieting, since that can affect testosterone levels. Now I am eating slightly above maintenance. Gaining weight very slowly, which is fine.

Started supplementing Vitamin D3, 3000 IU per day. Less on sunny days.

Started supplementing with Iodine, Tribulus, Boron, Chromium, Most recently phosphatidylserine.

Started drinking apple cider vinegar before bed.

Started taking a shot of lemon juice in the morning.

Started NoFap (no masturbation, p**rn or ejaculation). This is supposed to increase dopamine. Low dopamine, means high prolactin, which in turn lowers SHBG and releases more DHT (or so they say).

Increased my intake of saturated fats to increase testosterone production. Recently it has come to my knowledge that this lowers SHBG, so maybe that has caused more DHT...

Started eating a lot more oatmeal + raisins.

Switched to whole fat milk.

Started taking melatonin to improve sleep.

Stopped drinking diet soda.

Increased my intake of green vegetables.Started washing my hair with shampoo less often. 2-3 times a week now.

Prior to all this I've had a high protein diet, drank a lot of diet soda, not much time in the sun....I would think this would make me healthier, but now I am thinning like crazy. I've always had healthy hair! :( 20786371_10159122339195305_1546872605_n.jpg 20750820_10159122338895305_1202735699_n.jpg 20731315_10159122339315305_1046598001_n.jpg 20707703_10159122339035305_18547717_n.jpg

Lol, welcome to the balding

It doesn't matter how "healthy" your diet is. You have a classic male pattern baldness and going to NW4 pretty soon

Finasteride reinforcement now or say bye bye to your hair and join cue ball club

Damn! Is it possible to get Finasteride online without going through my doctor? And if diet doesnt matter at all, then how can this happen in just a matter of months? Is there nothing amongst all the rather drastic changes I have done that could explain this escalation?

Yeah sorry to say but your entire frontal portion is set to go, it is transparent even in the forelock. The sides have already taken off but it doesn't seem likely to stop there.

DHT is making you bald. Following specific diets isn't going to lower DHT to any significant amout. finasteride can lower DHT levels so consider using finasteride + a hair transplant.

wow some of the comments really shitty, why people so happy about another guy that go balding, and make it a joke? nothing funny about that.

@Arnulf im really sad for you bro. but yes, listen to the more practical advices here and start on medicine
I believe he's smart enough to take my advice to keep hitting the gym, rather than your fake sympathy, but hey, we need people like you as well.
