Lost This Much Ground In One Year - Brutal

Photos were taken 11 months apart. Notice how thick my density was and how vertical my temple peaks were. What's worse is I can see signs of further thinning in my temple areas. Wouldn't be surprised if I'm slick bald by 26-27 at this rate, I'm almost 23 now. Depressing as hell.

if you think slight temple recession is brutal you should see mine, going from thick nw2 to diffusing nw3 in a nw6 pattern in 6 months lol, and no you will likely never go slick bald drama queen

I feel for you man, for me it's the fact that the way my hair has receded has changed my entire face shape, looks really noticeable. And with my density going down I can't pull of the styles I used to be able to, which was a main part of my appearance.

As for the slick bald, I'm not even being dramatic, if I went to down a whole Norwood in 7 months, who knows what will happen in 7 years.

the acne is more distressing
Tell me about it man, my appearance took a hit in every regard compared to a few months ago. Starting to think I might have some underlying condition or something it's been a crazy ride.

you had a childs hairline, and you are growing up, you cant possibly expect yourself to look at 23 the way you were at 15. My temples started to thin like that when i was 16 lol

Yeah that's what I though too, but it seems to have progressed more than just a mature hairline. My older brother (older by 4 years) has his juvenile hair still.

You on finasteride? Judging by your skin looks like androgens playing big role there
Not on anything, have always been worried about the sides. But I wouldn't doubt the androgen idea, I also have a lot of body hair. Worth getting blood work done?

I can empathize well. When I was 19 I had no acne and a thick NW1. Even when I progressed to a NW2 at 22 my skin was fine but when I started diffuse pattern loss around 23 my skin also started to increase in oiliness. I get blemishes too, I wouldn't say it's aggressive acne by any means at all but I can't help but think they're related. Part of my truly believes that underlying, chronic inflammation is responsible for hair loss, acne, and heart problems. They all seem to be interconnected in some way.

My 0.02 on finasteride is to hurry and hop on to maintain what you have. If you have that much hair at 30 you will be doing better than almost all of your peers. I have had excellent density recovery recently but no regrowth along the hairline. My side effects were very mild and only lasted about a month. Best of luck, welcome to the warzone.

If your going untreated why be on here? You will go bald mate doing nothing
A couple reasons. This forum has provided the most knowledge than anyone else, even some of the derms I go to. Whenever I ask someone about my hair in real life they just say "are you crazy? You losing hair?", when it's obvious to me that I've lost some hair. This site is also one of the best resources to check up on updates regrading future treatments. And lastly, people on this board told me my hair loss is probably a maturing hairline, so I stuck around to see if it got worse by periodically posting updates. Oh, and also hair loss is on my mind way more than it should be, so inevitably I'd end up lurking a forum about it.

Yeah I agree on the chronic inflammation, but as to how one goes about lowering it I have no idea. I'd hop on treatments but I'm worried about sides. Imagine I don't get any regrowth/stability AND I get sides, that's what I'm worried about. I played with the idea of minoxidil/keto until something new comes out by 2020 (hopefully at least), but haven't decided yet. I'm seeing a derm soon so let's see how that goes. You think I'd be able to regrow any of my hairline/temples?

You joined this site in 2014, three years ago. LOL. Did you have a crystal ball?

Looks like you started with a Zayn Malik hairline. Ie. Norwood negative 2.

finasteride + minoxidil.

That's when I first noticed some hairloss, it was very minor but enough to grab my attention, everyone said I was crazy though haha. Since then it's been slowly receeding but as of say July this year is when it suddenly accelerated.

Any chance of going back to that hairline if I were to hop on the big 3?

Dude you have been on here for the last few years posting the same old sh*t. Do you think the responses from others is gonna change? Just get on finasteride and stop wasting time.

What is your diet like? Acne/inflammation/hairloss usually go hand in hand with junk food and sugar.

Honestly you're right, but I guess my obsession with hairloss is what drives me back to the forums. And then at the same time I'm worried about sides, but given how quick it advanced this year maybe it's time to take action. I'll see what my derm says this week.

Not the best, but not the worst either. Can definitely be eating more fish and veggies, but if anything I'm undereating these days. I used to eat way more sugar than I should, but not nearly as much these days.
