Hey this is kind of a touchy subject for me, but i'm on propecia, an anti depressent (zoloft) and an anti anxiety medicine, and i have a HUGE loss in sex drive. At 20 years old its kinda hard to explain to a girl why i CANT have her go down on me and how i'm on a cocktail of drugs that makes me not horny and makes my thing soft. It makes me angry to be quite honest, i feel like a 40 year old man at this point. So what should help this? is there some sort of herbal remedy or should lifting weights increase my testosterone or something? Anything, HONESTLY ANYTHING, would help just chime in and throw ideas at me please, i'm all ears.

Loss of libido is a known side effect of anti depressants and if you tell your doctor he should prescribe you v**** or cialis.

You could also try selegiline 5mg/day or yohimbine hcl 5-10mg/ day to help improve libido or arginine 3g/day.

I was on prozac for a week, after two days i couldnt bust a nut. I had just quit finasteride about a week before starting the prozac and now three months later my sex drive is finally back.

I didnt really have side effects on finasteride other than my semen was a lettle more watery but i think the combo of stopping that then starting an anti depressent had my system all f'd up.

As far as the depression goes, i was treated for mild depression and the sides just wasnt worth the benefits. I actaully just started eating better working out and drinking more water and i have felt as good as ever and my hair is looking better and better each day. Physical and mental well being go hand in hand and seems to be doing the trick for me.

"Feeling down? Take an anti-depressant. "
"Can't get it up? Ohhh...here - some v**** just for you!."
"Losing your hair? Pop some Propecia!"

You all seem to preach your drugs as if they're the cure-all to nearly every illness. Most of the time, problems seem to spark because your life may be out of balance.

So you use drugs as your escape. Drugs are drugs - prescription, otc or just plain illegal.
Sure, the drugs may help for a short period of time - but in the end, when the drugs just aren't cutting it anymore, you may end up worse than you did when you started. You may need to increase the dosage, or add to the never-ending brew. It sounds like you guys are munching the stuff down like candy.

I'm not discouraging the use of drugs, heck, I’m on the Big 3 myself --- but I'm just asking those people to think twice before recommending more and more drugs into others’ regimens. There is no need for any overkill. The human body is very resilient to many things thrown at it, and sometimes the best solution is a change of lifestyle.

Just my 2 cents...

I don't wasn't recommending him to take any drugs, he asked for information and I gave it.

He has a medical condition which requires medication and unfortunately has a side effect from that medication which may also need to be treated.

Yeah man I completely Agree with you... I am just trying the big 2 for now... I never thought I would take medications for life and I always avoid drugs even for cold/cough and I am a big proponent of natural remedies but here I am .. a slave to propecia for a long time to come...Hopefully at somepoint say 10 yrs down the line I ll decide enough is enough and get ready to go bald like millions of other men.... Surgical options in its current state do not appeal to me

well unfortunately most anti-depressants lower sex drive, wellbutrin this antidepressant is suppose not to cause lack of sex drive and sometimes can increase sex drive, also try adding ginkola bilboba, this has reports off offsetting sexual sides of antidepressants,

also try things like tribulus to help with your sex drive, get a good quality one though, nutrex ect

talk to your doctor about your problem, see what he suggests.
