Want to Avoid Medicines (For Now) - What Should I Do?

So I am currently 19 years old with balding corners. One corner is more bald than the other, but there are very fine, short, microscopic hairs located at those bald spots. Sometimes the front thins significantly if I crash diet, but recovers if I eat more. What can I do to counter possible hair loss? I want to avoid using medications (until I am independent) and am interested in this shampoo called Nizoral or Regenepure. Just something simple to recover the corners.

This certainly sounds like male pattern baldness. Do you have any photos of your hairline that you can post?

This, however, doesn't make much sense. male pattern baldness is a progressively worsening condition that is entirely genetic and is not dependent at all on nutrition. Poor nutrition can occasionally cause uniform thinning over the entire scalp, but this is completely unrelated to male pattern baldness, and would not cause thinning that is limited to just the frontal region.

Nizoral / Regenepure is very weak in terms of its effectiveness as a male pattern baldness treatment, and it is definitely far too weak to be able to work as a stand-alone treatment. The only thing currently available that is highly effective as a male pattern baldness treatment is 5-AR inhibitors (Propecia or Avodart). Unless you take a 5-AR inhibitor, you are very unlikely to win the long-term battle against this disease. Assuming you do in fact have male pattern baldness, you are making a big mistake by refusing to take Propecia.

Here

I'm just trying to slow down the effects of hair loss until I am independent enough to take on medications.

I suggest you do use medication and you start finasteride as it sounds like you have male pattern baldness considering it's at your temples and by the description "losing immense hairs" it sounds aggressive. Finsateride is the only way to solve the problem effectively, the only other option is to continue losing hair at the rate you are now, basically.

diet isn't related to male pattern baldness, but since we already know it is a clear male pattern baldness case from the recession I think we can conclude this correlation is all in your head
