I am 19 and started to notice some shedding about a year ago and I am looking for a solution (probably rogaine). I am wondering if it actually works. Will it slow down shedding? And would you recommend the foam or liquid for my hair? Should I start now or wait? I heard that it loses effectiveness over time. Any additional advice welcomed.

Yes a dermatologist, or a hair a skin specialist clinic. When you book, you can ask who is most appropriate as different derms generally have different areas of expertise. You might not want to book in with a cystic acne specialist, for example.

They can check for miniaturization of the hair follicle.

The may recommend the big 3 (finasteride, minoxidil and Nizoral), or they may decide to just start you on finasteride. The aggressiveness of your balding would be the deciding factor.
