Looking For Some Advice For finasteride Usage

Gentlemen,

I am seeking out some advice with my current situation. Over the last few years, maybe four or so, I have noticed my hairline slowly thinning. When I say slowly, I really do mean slowly. I don't really have recession but I have noticed in the corners the hair appears to be thinner than it was before. I have compared with pictures in the past, felt changes when playing with my hair now, etc. I know it has become thinner.

My question is: should I hop on finasteride? If I do, should I use it every other day? My thinking behind this is the fact that I am "catching it early" so using it every other day would be sufficient to produce the results I want. Also, by using it every other day I can reduce the chances of getting the potential sides, or at least reduce the severity of them. What do you guys think?

I appreciate you guys on here. I have been checking out this forum for over a year now and have learned a lot. It has helped me understand what I'm experiencing and explained the solutions that are available. Again, you guys are the real MVPs.

I am wondering the same thing. Micro dosing can lower side effects for some and still be effective. It’s about what dosage is best for you. I hope more people respond to this

I was hesitant about posting because I feel that what I am going through is more manageable than what others are dealing with, but since I don't see many posts like this I had to get a thread going.

Like you said, I feel like micro dosing seems like a logical way to treat certain people, and I am hoping some of the guys on here who do micro dose comment on this. Or even finasteride users who use it daily, I am just curious what they would think based on their experiences.

And honestly, I thought about this when I listened to the comedian Andrew Schulz talk about how once he started to see his hair thin he immediately started to use propecia with great success. I don't see many posts about jumping on finasteride at the very beginning of hair thinning. But I could be an idiot and just not have seen those posts lol

There are post but few and far between. I think your better off just going .5 everyday and seeing what happens. Could be beneficial. Better to catch it early.

Any pictures maybe to look into the situation. Based on what you are saying i would hop on the lowest dose possible and than every other day. 0.25 is a good place to start. Its easier for the system to up the dose than to lower it.

Appreciate the responses! I think I am going to do as you guys suggest--starting out at a lower dosage and going from there. I've been holding off on using finasteride for maybe a year now because of the stories of sides. I think it is worth it to try it out and see what happens rather than wait around and waste time while the thinning goes unabated.

hi @Tecumseh if your only just noticing thinning and want to catch it then i would recommend not going on finasteride and trying my natural method that has worked for me.
