Hey guys, I'm pretty new here but have been doing my research on what to use and I think I have a solid plan lined up.

First, let me give you a background. I'm 22 years old, and starting to see signs of male pattern baldness. I'm currently at a mature hairline, and starting to see thinning along my right temple side and vertex area. Luckily, I think I caught it in good time so maybye I can hold it off for a little while.

Let me know what you all think of this regimen:

- Finasteride in the morning.
- Shampoo with Nizoral 1%, 3x a week.
- Shampoo with Tricomin the remaining days.
- Apply Tricomin Follicle Therapy Spray 2x per day.

I'm going to hold off on the minoxidil until I get more progression. Two reasons for that:

1) I don't want to suffer 2 mega sheds at once and be nearly bald overnight. :) (From starting finasteride and minoxidil at the same time)

2) I'm not too far into it, so I want to save the minoxidil for a few years so I have some options left to me.

My thoughts exactly. I want to get this under control first then focus on growing.

A very good and well thought out regeime. Interesting argument against using minoxidil at this moment in time. Shame you chose 1% over the 2% strength Nizoral though. Overall a good effort. B+

why do you think that 1% is not enough? isn't there a study that show it work as well as 2%?

I also read that 1% was just as good. It just doesn't have as many studies as the 2%.

Two main reasons for me using the 1%:

1) I have a super sensitive scalp unfortunately. Everything dries it out and irritates it.

2) I'm in the USA, so 2% needs to be ordered. Not only is the product itself more money, but I have to pay for shipping as well. I'd rather the OTC 1%.

That may be true, sublime. I have been noticing some copper debris on my scalp the past two nights from overspraying I think.

Maybye I should only use it once.

One of the largest studies conducted on the use of Nizoral in hairloss used 2% strength stuff. The results showed it to be as effective as 2% Minoxidil. Havent seen any such studies for the 1% stuff.

no doubt you will probably maintain your hair. I would hold off on the minoxidil, too. It's a hassle, first and foremost, and Propecia is so much easier.

Goodluck--
look at my "beastly" regime--

Thanks man. I hope for the best on it. I'm starting to have problems with finasteride though. My gains at the gym are dropping significantly. I know it's not mental either.

I'm actually thinking of switching to Dr. Lee's spironolactone 5% twice a day and Revivogen once at night and dropping finasteride. :(

I'm going to give it about another few weeks and if I'm still lifting like a schoolgirl I'm gonna drop it I think.

- Lol btw your regimen is definitely beastly bro. Your going to dominate hairloss like it's nobody's business.

Haha-
thanks Beast. I plan to dominate--

I can't believe your gains have been fcked up. Maybe try supplementing your finasteride intake with L-Arginine... It helps your libido (helps mine a lot!) and it supports protein synthesis in your body. It really does counter a lot of finasteride's bad side effects.

Anyway, since using Dutasteride and L-Arginine, I've been hitting the gym more with substantial gains in the torso and whatnot.

Goodluck

Hey man how is that Nizoral regimen working out for you? Is using it about 5x a week drying your hair/scalp out or is it bearable?

I think since I have a great conditioner with Tricomin I'm gonna try and use your method. nizoral 1%, 5x a week and the Tricomin shampoo the other two days. Conditioner every single day, ofcourse.

Thanks for the L-Arginine tip!!! I'm gonna grab some tomorrow. Had no idea that it could be of that much use.

It started to dry out my scalp a lot--

Now I shampoo every other day--

I combine the 1% with the 2%, and apply, then condition as needed.

So far- my scalp can be a little dry sometimes (It's winter), but the male pattern baldness itch has basically gone away, and my scalp is clean and free of dandruff.
