Looking For A Surgeon In The Uk (england & Scotland)

I'm thinking of finally biting the bullet, and undergoing surgery.
Problem is, I don't know who to trust.
I've visited a couple of clinics here in the UK, but I wasn't exactly convinced.
I would travel abroad, but my concern is aftercare: if, for whatever reason, I need to see the doctor, it's not going to be easy if he's on the other side of the Atlantic.
Word of mouth is everything, so I'm wondering if anyone can recommend any good, trustworthy surgeons, based here in the UK?
