Propecia is the only proven treatment they recommend, and a small reference to Folligen. The rest of the treatments include items sold by the website's owners, which compete with minoxidil. This makes their contraindication advice about minoxidil suspect in my opinion, not to mention the fact that their contraindication makes statements that have been shown in studies to be factually incorrect. The "minoxidil-dependent", yet un-male pattern baldness affected hair theory was blown out of the water a long time ago.

That's what has me confused. Where is the literature the web site is citing?

Do you have any literature references?

Thanks, Gardner.

BTW, thanks also for the chelating shampoo recommendation. That helped tremendously when I started Rogaine.

No, I don't have the link to the backup, but it has been cited here.

In effect, getting off of minoxidil does result in a temporary shedding of some non-male pattern baldness-affected hairs. However, these hairs, as they are not under attack by DHT, end up growing back to the same baseline you would have been at if you had never used minoxidil all along.
