Guys, I've been steadily losing hair(shed) and my scalp just feels terrible since October. I was on finasteride until like 3 weeks ago when I decided that it wasn't doing anything but making my inflammation worse.

Now, can some actual users bring some info about their journey with the drug? Were you on finasteride? Did you switch? Did finasteride not work? Is sebum an issue since being on dutasteride? Every day, eod, etc..

You should address your scalp issues separately, perhaps visiting a derm or using Nizoral etc. As far as I know finasteride and dutasteride do not cause scalp inflammation and I have not come across people complaining of such issues - however I may be corrected by another user. You obviously want to have your scalp in a healthy condition to allow recovery. Are you using any topicals?

I have been on finasteride close to 2 years with decent results. My hair has thickened considerably and even my temples have come in a little. It did take over a year before the effects of finasteride became apparent but with another year passing, I felt the impact of finasteride had been capped.

I have recently added dutasteride once a week with a plan to increase this to twice a week. I am hoping dutasteride will improve things further.

UPDATE

I noticed that you have received a response to your question in another post from Agustin, who said that he was also suffering from inflammation of the scalp. It seems that dutasteride could be helpful in this regard.

What's up Cliff,
Yeah I used fun for a year and 10 months but at one year I had scalp pain, a massive shed, some pimples and little raised bumps in spots.. Just literally all hell broke loose. I stopped minoxidil but my hairline irritation continued until I finally quit last month. I think the topical application of minoxidil was "ok" but then finasteride gave me a hormone imbalance and created an oily scalp and then minoxidil/finasteride became my enemy.

I read some users having dryer skin on duta, but I really want to hear from A LOT of users. There needs to be a good thread in regards to dutasteride and skin disorders common to male pattern baldness sufferers.
