Is anyone else here on anti-depressant medication? I’ve been taking Sertraline for the last few months but I’m a bit concerned about some reports that AD’s might contribute to hair loss. It seems to be more true of SSRI’s than other medications but there’s a few suggestions that the older tricyclic AD’s might also have it as a side-effect.
Does anyone have advice about what a ‘safe’ anti-depressant might be as regards to hair loss? After all, I don’t want to make the problem worse. It’s largely due to male pattern baldness that I’m taking them in the first place! Unfortunately my depression problems are persistant and intense and I’ve never been able to go for more than a few months without them.
Over the years I’ve tried Mirtazipine, dothiepin, citalopram.
