Hi, I'm 22 years old and whether it is the result of stress or age or the dosage of my Avodart use, I have noticed some pretty troubling sexual side effects, namely no morning 'wood' and a significant decrease in the hardness of my erections when I keep them. Also I dont have that desperate need to jerk off all the time like I used to. 
I read that some of you use L-arginine to bolster your libido. Has it been working?
Prior to my finasteride to dutasteride switch I had been on Propecia 1mg/day for about ten or eleven months. I was horny as ever though I was not sure that my hair wasnt falling out. With dutasteride I am sure its working however the trade is a pretty tough one. Also When i was on finasteride I used to spike my hair like some tv cheezeball. This obviously exposed my scalp. After the switch everything was fine for about three months and then my lack of hardons became apparent.
I was dosing .5mg/ day. Ive cut it down, though I dont know what my new dosage should be: 3X a week, 4X's ?.... I still have a relatively good head of hair. All I want is a medicine that will keep what I have and maybe thicken it up some and that wont loose its efficacy after a couple of years. I weigh a little under 190lbs. Im 6'4''. I dont know if this would have any bearing on my adjusted dosage.
Besides the sexual side effects The drug seems to be working very well. When I tell doctors that I am on a hairloss drug they look at me in surprise. This is a very reassuring thing, given that avodart is expensive as hell. However, not being able to get a rocking hard on without the use of more drugs (v****, aprima) is starting to piss me off. Moreover its slightly depressing, the trade I mean. Hair for a myriad of chemical dependencies. I want to keep my hair. I have too narrow a head to go bald right now. However I really would like to know if there is any way to salvage my sex drive.
If the decision comes to switching back to propecia then I have to swallow a two month supply of dutasteride. Its illegal to sell prescription drugs if youre not a doctor right?
Anyways, excuse the jumbled mess of statments and questions. I am just sick of being out of whack. Help?
