Hi all:
My name is Tovah and I've been suffering with hereditary female pattern hairloss since my teens.
I did it all: doctors, pills, vitamins, specialists and, for some reason, while my hair has always been especially thin on top, I have totally babied it. Very little blow-drying, only certain hair products, no curling irons and I was getting along pretty well.
Two days ago, my hair started falling out. In clumps. It's all over the bathroom, computer, etc. I'm hoping that it's due to a new medication.
While I've been able to live my life so far without a wig, I fear I am at that point now. Now there is more scalp than hair and seems to be getting worse.
I have just come out on my website, www.hautecurvywoman.com as having alopecia and am thinking of making it a regular segment on my blog. Maybe talking about what works, what doesn't work, the truly horrible feeling when first diagnosed and finally coming to peace with it, which is where I'm at now.
That doesn't mean that I won't keep trying to keep my hair.
Anyway, nice to meet all of you and I hope we can all help each other out.
