Hi, been reading the site for a few days and thought I'd make a thread thanking everyone for the vast amount of information you've given on these forums.....it's been a great help.
I'm 22 and have been losing hair since I was 14.....very very slowly (most likely brought on early by my terrible eating habits as a kid). Luckily, I still have a very good head of thick hair, my temples have receeded slightly and the hair on top of my head has thinned slightly, but it's only really noticable to me as I've become an expert in styling my hair so as not to show it. I really want to do whatever I can to keep a decent head of hair for as long as I can.
My current hairstyle is like Ethan Hunt's in MI:2, but I'm thinking of getting it cut shorter as i'm sure the blow-drying and straightening irons aren't really having a positive affect on it. I spend an absolute fortune on expensive shampoos (Philip B moisturing truffle oil shampoo) and other hair products.
I've recently bought the American Crew Revitalise pack and intensive serum, to be honest I'm not too impressed with them so far, my hair seems shinier and in better condition when I'm using other premium shampoos like Louise Galvin. Really considering buying the lasercomb, although there are a lot of people negative about it here and on other sites, I think that those who it seems to be working for appear to be those who still have good heads of hair? Don't want to touch regaine, read quite a few horror stories. I'm in completely two minds about propecia, read alot of positive and some negative, I try to stay away from medication as much as I can, even avoiding taking aspirins for headaches, if there was a hundred per cent guarantee that it had no side affects and kept my hair count the same I'd jump on it, but I'm not sure if I can take the gamble of any side affects and the possibility that it speeds up my hairloss. For the past three months I have been taking hair and nail supplements from a well-known haircare company called Phyto, they're called 'phytophanere' if anyone wants to 'google' them. Can't really see if they've had a positive effect on my hair or not but they've certainly given me very strong healthy looking nails! so they must be doing some sort of good.
