Okay, so I'm 23 years old and have had hair loss since I was about 18. I've ignored it for the most part, but people have started to comment on it enough that I wanted to do something about it- recently I started rogaine 5% liquid solution (about a week ago) and am awaiting results. I've done my homework on this so I know it will take at least 2 months (maybe more) before I see results, so I'm being patient. I apply it every day when I wake up and every night a few hours before bed- luckily, my hair loss is limited to mostly the top of my head (pattern baldness I believe it's called), which is apparently the most curable form.
I just had a few questions for anybody who's gone through this before- success and failure stories are both welcome, haha. First, I was wondering if anybody has any special technique to applying the stuff? I haven't used the foam (though I hear mixed reviews about it), so I'm mostly just wondering if there's any special trick to applying the liquid solution? I've felt my scalp a few times an hour or so after applying and my head feels greasy (which is good, since I know the minoxidil is still soaking in) but I'm wondering if it's dripping off, or the 'curved' parts of my scalp are maybe having the minoxidil roll off? Has anybody had issues with application using the liquid, due to it's consistency?
Also, I was wondering if wind or fans in your house have had any effect on you? Generally I apply it in the morning, hang around for an hour, and drive to work- should I be keeping the windows closed, or the AC off? Like I said, I've felt my head and the minoxidil is definitely still there, but do fans, wind, etc maybe dry out the chemicals or something? Just wondering if anybody else has experimented with this or had lackluster results (I have no problem avoiding AC and stuff if necessary, just wondering if it makes any difference).
So that's basically it for now- I'm sure I'll come up with other context-specific questions since I really wanna maximize my use of this if I'm going to be doing it, haha. Any help or advice is appreciated. Thanks!
