Decided to jump aboard and start foam. I'll update in 3 months....I am only using it on the temples and the front hairline.

I've been on propecia for a year and 1 month now and would like to add the foam. Just following suggestions..1 treatment at a time :)

I have to say tho, the foam is very easy to apply and I am positive 1 can will last me 2 months.

See you guys in February~

Stick with it, man. But remember one thing. Foam seems to be a lot more, almost violently more effective than the liquid and you WILL SHED. And it won't be pretty.

But that doesn't mean it ISN'T WORKING. It means it is.

Prepare for a year of rollercoastery hell.

Goodluck and godspeed. And if it gets to hard to deal with, shave it.

no, it doesn't mean anything, people shouldn't be worried or paranoid about "shedding". my hair is regrowing, btw.

lol that would suck if i did shed, but that was one of the possible consequences i factored in when i made my decision.

i don't think i had any sheds on propecia, but maybe i did because my hair did get thinner 2 months in before it thickened up.

anyway I am a Norwood 2 and hoping to fortify the thinning temples + hairline

thnx for the goodlucks~

flimflam thats awesome.......which areas?

well I need regrowth in my vertex and temples - it's very hard to tell if there's anything happening in the vertex area, but the hairline/temples are regrowing. I can now see the clear 'shape' of my hairline, whereas before it was all diffuse. still a long way to go though :)

I've been doing the hairline temple thing with the foam and propecia and my hair has improved quite a bit but at the same time shed shed shed quite a bit. it is very confusing. Pretty much my hairline and temples come down further but there will be weeks where the hair just keeps falling and it gets pretty scary. Just hang in there. I hope you the best of luck.

Kiel you caught yours rather early it seems. If i could have hair like i did two years ago i would be stoked. However something tells me the fact that it took so long for my hairline to form the U it is in now, it will be very hard to get even a decent hairline back. My temples are bad. It seems the diffuse always have more success. Good luck to all of you.

I guess it is good to have low expectations... that way you'll be happy with whatever results you get. My temples were pretty bad tho and really have gotten much better. I've been on Propecia almost 4 years now

kiel my hair looks similar to your avatar right there, same type of style.

thnx for the advice, i've only hit week 1 of foam, so it'll be alil while b4 a shed (if it occurs) happens.

i've always shed a lot of hair, i think it runs in my family. even b4 the male pattern baldness hit, i would lose at least 100 a day. the only time that ever changed was between a span of 2 months where i lost like 300 a day, which i recovered by had less density afterwards. then i went from nw1 to nw2 and started thinning.

best of luck to you guys too~

Quick documentation :)

Started foam on December 2nd, 2007.

It's now the 30th, so approx. 4 weeks.

I've only applied it to temples, side temples, and hairline.

The results so far: No shedding. No change in density. Side temples have a terminal hairs growing, I like the way it's filling in the side temples.

I'll update again - end of January.

hey guys

just finished month 2 with foam

here is what i've noticed

tons n tons n tons of vellus hairs all over the hairline and alil less than a cm in front of the hairline. those are the places i have been applying the product. the thickness varies, some of the vellus hairs are darker and longer than others. but because there are so many, my front looks thicker.

i'd be cured if those hairs turned terminal because they are all over where nw1 hairs would be.

no shedding so far either.

will update next month, good luck with your treatments guys!

hey guys

finished 3 months of foam.

just starting month 4

results:

tons of vellus hairs where i've applied - once again on the hairline and down the middle of the top of my head. the difference between month 2 is that I have more vellus hairs, and the hairs that sprouted back then have grown alil thicker and longer.

NO SHED - in fact, my hair shedding is the lowest it's ever been - even after a year on propecia. now i can't say it's the foam, it could be propecia working even better (approaching 1 year and a half), but it's a great feeling to be able to run through my hair and drop maybe one hair every now and then.

i would say still a nw2 - was a Norwood 2.5 before propecia.

with the new vellus hairs, IF they ever completely turn terminal, i'd be back to nw1,5, where I was before all this crap started happening.

anyways, goodluck to you guys and i'll update next month.
