Just Had Fue, What Should I Do Next?

Guys

I'm 10 days post-op from FUE - 5300 grafts in total. I posted the full story with pics on the tell your story section.

My clinic has told me to discontinue use of minoxidil, but I get the feeling he's just saying that so he can get me back in next year to do my crown (which is thin, not completely bald).

Any advice? Other research I've done online suggests that minoxidil is actually recommended after an hair transplant however, as mine was so large and convered my full head, maybe thats why I'm being advised not to use it? I don't want to start and then risk the new hairs I've got. Thoughts please? Or any other tips?

Could it be that he wanted to just lay off minoxidil for a brief period post sugery and not permanently ?

Minioxidil has been proven to not make difference in controlled studies involving those who took snd those who didn't on results. I never took it after my second transplant, didn't notice any difference.

Surgeon basically said I didn't need it.

He did a great job, covering all of the top of my head. The crown was left, and he mentioned after the procedure that he'd welcome me back in the next 12/18 months to cover this area. I don't really fancy another $4000 outlay, and the crown isn't a priority for me, so I managed it previously with minoxidil.

Almost every other clinic I have researched has advised to start using minoxidil 2 weeks post-op. I still have about 3 months supply sitting in my bathroom, calling at me every morning lol. But I don't want to start again and potentially mess things up.

No reason not to use it along with finasteride, at the very least on your crown. It may not speed up your results but it's not going to hurt either.

It doesn't speed up any results, but doesn't hurt to include if you have the resource & time.

All surgeons recommend it.

I had 1000 individual hairs placed along the hairline for detail. The rest are multiples.
