Just bought the 5% Rogaine from rogaine.com....but

After reading the box that states that Rogaine is only to be used for the vertex area only I'm not sure if I need to return it or not. The top of my head area is where I'm thinning. The vertex area is fine. Will Rogaine 5% solution work for the top of my head area also? I've been told that Rogaine will grow hair on a newborn's butt. Please let me know if I should use the product. Also, what should I expect to happen at first if I start to use it? Thanks

Yes use it. It works even on the hairline. It was only tested on the vertex when they put it through trials so from a legal standpoint they can only claim that it grows hair in the area it was tested.
Sheds seem to be something a few people claim minoxidil causes but that's actually a good thing. Personally I've never experienced the initial minoxidil shed. That's about it. Use it. It's one of the only two products that are FDA approved for hair regrowth.
You may want to do a search on Nizoral shampoo too. Use it 3-4 times a week.
